RODRIGUES ISLAND
A little tropical island named Rodrigues, lies in the middle of the Indian Ocean and is 650km away from Mauritius. It is a sparkling gem, home to around 44,000 people and the island was discovered in February 1528 by Portuguese explorer Diego Rodrigues. It is a tough volcanic outcrop and a grandiose central edge and profound valleys and gorges.
It is encompassed by a coral reef which encase a wide variety of species in the turquoise shallow lagoon, which is twice the size of the island. There are a few little islets around the main island, congested with a rare flora and home to endangered sea birds. A visit to the island is much more about stepping back in time, enjoying the rugged beauty of the verdant interior, the empty beaches and the friendly people. Moreover, Rodrigues is

CLIMATE
Rodrigues has a climate that is specifically suited to living there - it is a mild tropical maritime climate with trade winds that blow throughout the year. The average summer temperature is around 25.9°C (78.6°F), and the average winter temperature is around 22.3°C (72.1°F). The temperature difference between summer and winter is 3.6°C.
December to March are the hottest months, and August is the coolest month. The wettest month is February, and September and October are the driest months. Cyclone activity may occur in January to April
